Bloody Hawaii
Bloody Hawaii was a collaboration with choreographer Bernadette Lewis and the Link Dance company. For the last 3 months I have worked closely with Bernie to help bring to life the concept for this dance work. The work explores gender narratives through the prism of pop culture. Starting with a 1930s Popeye cartoon the composition re-frames popular songs such as I Put a Spell on You and Beyond the Reef, traversing sounds from the 30's, 50's, 80s and current day.
Shows ran from 4-6 June in Geoff Gibbs Theatre @ ECU WAAPA.
